ABOUT
About
Nina has been involved in community development in Winnipeg for fifteen years. During that time, she worked in non-profit leadership roles, the front lines, as well in advisory roles with local and national organizations.
Nina holds a bachelor of social work degree from the University of Manitoba. She has been involved in teaching counseling at Red River College and continues to support university students during their practicum placements with community agencies.
Prior to immigrating to Canada, Nina trained as a nurse in her home country of Rwanda. She chose to specialize in mental health when Rwanda was just emerging from the ravages of war and genocide.
Her educational background in mental health and social work enables her to apply gender equity, trauma, and cultural safety lenses to her work. Nina has supported organizations in the creation of best practices, frameworks, and policy recommendations that support transformative change. Nina enjoys leading organizational development trainings. As part of her work, Nina serves on various non-for-profit organization boards as well as at the national gender-based violence strategy.
Her passion for community development, advocacy, and empowering individuals and families have allowed her to work closely with the organization and diverse communities through policy recommendations, clinical consultation, program development, and facilitation.
Most recently, Nina has channeled her passion for social justice and equity into her own consulting initiative. Nina Condo Consulting in Winnipeg specializes in training development for business, government agencies, and not-for-profit organizations.
